Week 7

Busy, busy, busy is the best way to describe this week.

Linda and I took off to LA with Jessica and her sister to go to the Lopez Tonight show on Monday. We lucked out and were upgraded to VIP seating, but it was so cold in there that it was borderline torture sitting through the taping. Linda and I had a brief (2-3 second) shot on TV, but it was before George came out, so I can't find it on the web right now. It was a life experience, but next time I am headed towards The Price is Right or the Ellen Show---I was not super impressed with my coupon for a free pizza, Foreigner CD and concert tickets. It was an all day event and barely made it back in time to catch ourselves on TV. My dad and the kids had a great time putting together Corinne's new toys and gearing up for the projects for the week.

Lincoln got a new bed, as his firetruck bed was getting a little crammed with all his "friends". Here he is helping my dad put it together---in Linda's high heels of course!

The finished product--A big boy bed with a trundle!

We also had our first gymnastics class. He was a champ on the bar with a "toe touch"--no assistance needed!

And he loved the obstacle course tunnel.

And we worked on his hand stand.

We also had a battle with Bobacadouce on Thursday. I am pretty sure he hates my dad more than he hates me now. He kept lying the entire time he was here to "change the batteries in the smoke detectors"--despite the fact that our lease states in two different sections that it is the tenants' responsibility. He did his walk through after rummaging through my trash and doing a crap job in the maintenance to prevent the bees. He left on a somewhat good note--appalled by my Dad's ability to call him on his lies, but very impressed on our upkeep of his investment. He then went over to my neighbors to spin some more lies, and was taken back by the fact that we are friends and she too called him on his bluff.

After the landlord idiot left, we got ready to tackle the playroom. I am sure Bob will appreciate our Avocado green walls! The hardest part was taping it off!

One roll of tape later, Lincoln got a lesson on the basics of painting.

He soon learned the roller covered much more ground than the brush.

This kid was concentrating hard. I am slightly tempted to email this pic to my landlord---but I wouldn't want to be responsible for him having a heart attack!

Painting Buddies! This was all more than a little stressful for me--fearing the whole house would end up green. But they had a great time and Lincoln is so proud of the wall he painted with Grandpa Jinks.

Corinne enjoying her new ride on/push toy/wagon---not exactly how it was intended, but all the more fun in the new playroom!

After the painting project, Lincoln felt like a pro as he tackled the Easter Eggs head on.

Luckily I misread the instructions and accidentally diluted the dye with a full cup of water. Our eggs were more pastel than vibrant, but it saved Lincoln's hands since he decided that stupid wire thing was for wimps and true painters just use their hands to fish out the eggs.

And who has time to let them marinate??? Let's just shove them all in at once! Lincoln got a little lesson on displacement!

We headed to church Saturday evening to avoid the crowds and ease up our Sunday morning. I had hoped to get a good picture of the three of us, but I have come to realize that there is definitely a reason professionals charge so much! Getting two little ones to smile at the same instant and look in the right direction is next to impossible. I will try again to get a shot of the two of them next Sunday---Corinne will be sporting her Easter dress all summer!

Lincoln shouting "Happy Easter!" when he sees the baskets in the morning.

Corinne was excited to see some goodies in her basket too!

Lincoln opening up his "Daddy Doll" and showing Sissy hers while wearing their new backpacks.

Lincoln working hard to get that boogie in his tool man dress up.

Corinne ran off with the tape measure when Linc wasn't looking. Her thoughts "Victory is Mine!"

Corinne was over the Easter baskets. She was ready to get at those eggs the bunny left outside.

And they were off! Corinne was surprisingly good at finding the eggs and Lincoln was just as good at taking them out of her basket and adding them to his.

Luckily for Lincoln, Corinne was pretty laid back over the whole egg-stealing incident. But something tells me that next year all the eggs will be either pink or blue and you only collect your designated color!

Happy Easter Everyone!

  2. LOVE the bed, where did you get it? It's cool you went to the Lopez show, but if I had my pick, I'd be heading to the Doctors show. I have a crush on Dr. Travis. Mmmmmm!

  3. Oh yes, Dr. Travis----maybe you should take a trip out here and we can go see him and leave the boys at home with the kids! The bed is from JCPenny---and I got a coupon code online for $157 off---the whole thing costs about what just the trundle would have been from Pottery Barn!
